Austin Beer Guide “Hangin’ With Tha Coop” Ep TWO, Brought to You by Black Star Co-op

The wait is over; we finally carved out a free 15 minutes to throw another one of these up on the Net.

In this second of the “Hangin’ with Tha Co-op” series, we’re still kickin’ it on the patio of Black Star Co-op with brewer/owner Jeff Young.

These 24ish minutes, we steer the ship away from cooking with sperm, and take aim on the classic American beer style, the IPA. Aaron tries to justify why we chose IPA as the ultimate Spring beer style… No one agrees.

Jeff then takes us on a tasty journey of the IPA department of his brain as he pontificates on the style, local examples, his take on brewing IPAs, and an interesting anthropological tangent on “what is a classic Austin beer?”

Chris tries to make a case for the Rye IPA being the new “Austin Signature” beer… No one agrees.

This episode is definitely for the beer listeners out there. Still witty, funny, and as highbrow as you’ve come to expect from us, but there are much bigger words thrown around in these 24 minutes than all the other hours of podcasting we’ve done in the past.

Once again we’re joined by our friend Bryan Gutmann. If you think he’s funny on the Podcast, check out his standup. He’s been on TV, so he’s legit (this paragraph inserted solely for the SEO value “Bryan Gutmann” brings to the table).

Thanks to our sponsor, Black Star Co-op and to brewer/natural harvester Jeff Young for joining and schooling us on IPAs.

Enjoy!
